Background of the Study
As the volume of data generated by businesses increases, the importance of data privacy and ethical handling of personal information becomes paramount. IT ethics play a critical role in ensuring that businesses protect customer data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Data privacy laws, such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), emphasize the ethical responsibility of businesses to secure personal data (Cohen & Morrison, 2024). This study will explore the role of IT ethics in data privacy protection in businesses operating in Kebbi State.
